Recap: Week 8 Marathon Training

Happy Monday! In preparation for my 18 mile marathon tune-up race this Sunday, I pushed myself to fit in those miles and workouts last week. The weather in New York has cooled down making outdoor running much easier and more enjoyable. I decided to go for a long run of 20 miles this past Saturday to keep my endurance up especially after my injury. After my long run, I was not as sore or tired as the last 20 mile run I did about a month back. Overall, I’m feeling prepared and confidence for this weekend’s race. I included a breakout of my workouts and runs from last week below:

Monday: Run: 3 Miles (Outdoors) Strength: 2 X 60 Second Planks

Tuesday: Rest

Wednesday: Run: 8 Miles (Treadmill) Strength: 3 X 12 Assisted pull ups, 2 X 60 second planks, 3 X 12 Shoulder Presses (40 pounds on machine)

Thursday: Rest

Friday: Run: 5 Miles (Outdoors)

Saturday: Run: 20 Miles (Outdoors, long run to prepare for 18 mile race)

Sunday: Rest
